Hi-CE Software: Virtual Curator
The Virtusl Curator is a stand-alone or web-based tool that allows users to take on the role of a museum curator for a specific project. Using this tool, students recognize the challenges of identifying information from primary and secondary sources to try to recreate an artifact in its authentic form, and to provide and present information about the artifact to highlight its original use. Through this exercise, students come to realize the difficult challenges of identifying "truth" in something as tangible as a house design by using interviews and other resources provided by the original occupants to try to recreate the experience of life in their home. This tools uses the Mattox House from Greenfield Village, along with supporting information and sources from The Henry Ford.
